Happy Birthday Bob Marley!

Kudos to a man blessed with tremendous musical talent who used it to politically empower his fellow citizens in Jamaica, continental Africa and the world. The US gov't found it so threatening they had the CIA put a hit out on him. Luckily their attempt was unsuccessful and he was able to continue creating music that defined a genre and still sounds great to this day! I'm not even going to talk about the womanizing though I will acknowledge for every positive there are the less desirable aspects of individuals so we should not put them on pedestals. He did set a fine example for artists who can make incredible music that uplifts. He succumbed to cancer at the age of 36 - which is far too young to die. We need more examples of artists that may be controversial but push us to think outside the box.

  2. Happy Birthday B Marley! Never really listened to his music but Ziggy Marley's song "Im In Love With You" feat Erykah Badu was my song!
