Another reader pointed out that we should acknowledge black women had been sold into slavery long before the trip to the Americas by other black men. It took me a bit to think about that. <br /><br />I now conclude it stands that our betrayal by them as a collective has ALWAYS been part of the equation. We were just too foolish to see it. When I read that Lynch letter I cringe ...Hi Faith,<br /><br />When I read that Lynch letter I cringe as if I was reading it for the first time. <br /><br />Fascinatin premise you have and of course I agree. How in the world did we find ourselves here? Somewhere circa post civil rights the message was perverted and given out in subjective ways that benefitted a few. We as a people bought into it. Yes we had our own minds, but most of us followed like sheep being led to slaughter. And we were slaughtered.
