Does Anybody Have Time to Read Blogs on Sundays?

Welcome To My Blog! (Fist Bump and Chocolate Chip Cookies for All)
You will remember that you are free to offer your opinion but don't get mad if my response is swift and brutal. I do not suffer fools lightly.
Spirited Debates are welcome but disrespectful words and tones will get you a virtual slap-down and banishment. No yelling, cursing or defamation allowed. This also means I may critique your comment so you shouldn't be surprised if I respond to it.
These are on-going conversations and no post is officially "closed".
Welcome to the Spin-Free Zone!
Submitting a comment does not guarantee inclusion (that's for the trolls!!)
All blog traffic slows on the weekend. In fact Saturday is my slowest day of the week. I try to use the time to prepare for the week and right articles that I want to sell. I also use the time to unplug and hang with the kids.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for sticking with writing everyday. It is hard work and not really acknowledged as such. People seem to think that because you are not working up a sweat doing it that it does not come at a cost and as we both know that is far from true. Take care of you and I do enjoy reading what you say, even if I don't comment everyday.
My dedication with trying to blog every day has to do with my trying to develop a discipline for writing--any writing. Since my blog is new with a tiny readership I cannot rely on the gratification of getting community feedback to keep me going. I have to rely on the satisfaction I get when I browse a full week or month or more of my output.
ReplyDeleteI am also trying to develop the discipline of writing fairly quickly. Because of my training I tend to take an inordinate amount of time brainstorming, researching, writing, revising. But it had gotten to the point where the "preparation" was impeding my progress. Blogging has allowed me to let go of a little fear and need for perfection.
Anyway, thanks for this post (and your blog generally). It really got me thinking!
Renee: Thanks so much for the kind words. I do appreciate it. Writing is hard! But I guess so is everything else....
ReplyDeletePostracial: Gawd your moniker cracks me up. Twist of irony and twist of the knife! Just post it. Believe me agonizing over what you write is a sure way to not get any work done. I have a small readership as well but I'm not going to do a gossip blog or throw molotov cocktails of insults at people to fan the flames and boost traffic. Having a voice and influence is best.
Hello there, Faith!
ReplyDeleteWriting something everyday? {!!!} Wow! {deep martial arts bow in salute}
Peace, blessings and solidarity.
Khadija: I'm trying to add exercise to my list of daily activities. It takes 21 days to form a new habit and that's my new goal.
